The Sonic Generals are a Global Hip Hop / Funk / Soul / Film Score collective of musicians, singers, rappers and producers put together by Mamma Freedom producer Alexander Johnston. The group is mix of influences and colours. A Tribe Called Quest, Wu- Tang, Jurassic 5, Dr Dre, Scott Storch, Pete Rock and MF Doom lead the Hip Hop side while artist like Sly and The Family Stone, Deadato, Quincey Jones, and Classical Music from Beethoven. Mozart, Chopin, Schubert and Ricard Strauss make up the sonic sound of the group.

They formed in 2014 when Alexander and JV Johnston and their band Mamma Freedom met and started writing with Canadian Rapper Ishkan and Singer / Rapper Ashleigh Eymann.

The first song the group finished ‘Down to Business’ was used in the feature film ‘Hackney’s Finest’ and was released on the soundtrack in April 2015 and as a single the same month.

Their debut album ‘Soul Riders’ is set for release in 2024 on Velmont Records and will feature label mates, Mamma Freedom, Alexander O.Neal, Seren Devimes and Vino.
